ECWolf is also compatible with vanilla mods (those are the ones that don't come with an exe). For those loading the audiot, gamemaps, vgagraph, and vswap files should work. Unless it's for the apogee release of Wolfenstein 3D, then it's more tricky, but technically possible to load them.

It's a recreation of the Wolf 3D and Spear of Destiny games for the [GZ]Doom engine. ECWolf is a port that runs the original Wolf 3D and Spear of Destiny games directly. If you use ECWolf, the only files that are truly necessary for it to work are, in Wolf 3D, the *.WL6 files (AUDIOHED, AUDIOT, GAMEMAPS, MAPHEAD, VGADICT, VGAGRAPH, and VSWAP). ECWolf will be getting a lot of similar features, so we'll see. There are no plans to support reading the roms of console versions of Wolfenstein 3D (similar to how Doom 64 Ex works), but that's not to say I would be against implementing it upstream if it can be done cleanly. First, you’ll need to download (and install) a Hex Editing program, like HxD. Go to their page and download the program in your preferred language. Install it wherever you’d like. Pick your game. For this guide, we’ll just be using the default Wolfenstein 3D files, but this will work with most mods that use an SDL exe.
